Active East is an exciting programme which aims to create a legacy from the 2014 Commonwealth Games for young people in the East of Glasgow by increasing levels of physical activity and building skills through volunteering.

 

ActiveCreating a community of young people who enjoy the physical, mental and social benefits of an active lifestyle.

InspiringProviding opportunities for young people to expand their skill set, confidence and aspirations.

 

BuildingCreating the capacity, skills and understanding within the community to ensure that the impact of Active East is sustained.

According to national guidelines physical activity is movement of the body that uses energy and may include: exercise, sport, play, dance and active living such as cycling and walking.

Children 5+ should aim for 60 minutes of physical activity a day

Adults 16+ should aim for 30 minutes of physical activity a day
